This is pretty awesome. It helps me get my ass off the couch so the muscles in my legs don’t atrophy. Schedule your breaks.

Recently I have been seeing a lot of ‘How can I get a free website?’ and how to make a website on the cheap. Well you know the old saying, ‘You get what you pay for?’, it applies to websites too.
If someone tells you it can be done for free or less than a few hundred dollars there are three possibilities:
- They are lying to get a sale and then will keep bumping up the price, or deliver crap.
- You will be using a free cms like WordPress and a website theme.
- You have a super nice web designer/developer friend that is under paying themselves.
Recently I have made the switch to freelancer. It is hard to know what to charge, and then when you figure out a rate and your friends ask, they don’t understand why it’s so high when they only make XX/hour. Go use this tool—and be totally honest about how much you spend and how many billable hours a day you could do, vacation time, etc. The FreelanceSwitch Hourly Rate Calculator is so handy.
Alex Mathers has this amazing blog with great advice for promoting yourself online. Nothing is better than when the content and design of something are both of excellent quality. I just bought his ebook and cannot wait to read it!
